Wayne Reithel Obituary

His Legacy… Wayne Bruce Reithel, 79, passed away on May 04, 2025.  He was born on March 09, 1946, in Unionville, Michigan, to Ralph and Meta (Lutz) Reithel. Wayne married the love of his life, Sallie Tschirhart, on November 28, 1970, in Rapson, Michigan. Wayne spent 42 years as a agent for AAA insurance, a job he truly enjoyed. He had a natural gift for talking to people and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. Wayne enjoyed spending time out in his barns working on his tractors. Wayne also enjoyed his large vegetable garden and dared a weed to grow.

He was an avid card player who especially loved a game of Euchre with friends or family. What mattered most to Wayne was his family. He was a proud and devoted father and papa who rarely missed a sporting event. Wayne was known for his steady, positive outlook. When asked how he was doing, he often replied, “I’ve never had a bad day in my life.” That simple line says a lot about the way he chose to live.

His Family… Wayne will be missed by his loving wife, Sallie Reithel; his children, Amy (Brad) Uphouse, Andrea (Eric) Chase, and Kristin (Major Andrew) Tkac; siblings Carol (Rodney) Truemner, Donald (Sue) Reithel, and Warren (Connie) Reithel; grandchildren Camryn Chase, Logan Chase, Magdalyn Uphouse, Addison Chase, James Wayne Uphouse, Jason Tkac, and Molly Tkac; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Meta Reithel.

His Farewell… Wayne’s family and friends will gather on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 4 – 8 PM at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel.
