Wendell Welper, 82, of Fowlerville, MI, passed away on April 27th after a battle with infection. Wendell was born on October 19th, 1942 to Francis and Janis Welper in Detroit, MI. He earned a Bachelor’s Of Science degree from Eastern Michigan University. After graduation Wendell was a jack of all trades. He was a teacher, a pizza maker, even a potato peeler. His main career was insurance sales. He was a single Dad who raised three kids. Wendell loved working on cars, especially his Mercedes, reading, painting, and dabbling in the stock market. He is survived by his wife of 25 years Carol (Schutt) Welper, Brother, Gene (Shelley) Welper, Sister, Charlotte (Jim) Chiddister, Son, Daniel (Mauricio) Welper, Son, David Welper, Daughter, Bonnie Spencer, Son-In-Law’s Jeff (Sandy) Southerland, Brian (Jaci) Southerland, Ken Southerland and Daughter-In-Law Joy (Jeff) Rajala. He will be missed greatly by his grandchildren Michael and Zachary Southerland, Corinne Scharmen, Ronnie, Anders, Ava and Natalie Rajala, John and Ashley Spencer, Brittney Wilder and Miles Welper. Wendell is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Fowlerville on Friday May 2nd at 10:00 with the funeral following at 11:00. A luncheon will be served afterward. The family is not seeking any donations.
