William G Atkinson

His Legacy… William G Atkinson, age 76, passed away December 27, 2024. He was born on November 25, 1948 in Holly, MI to William and Ardis (Chapman) Atkinson. Bill was a Vietnam veteran. He worked for Ford Motor Company for many years prior to his retirement. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed going to horse races, fishing, working on the computer, collecting model trains, and dancing. He also liked to attend country music concerts. Most of all, Bill loved spending time with family and camping with his grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

His Family… Bill leaves behind his children, Tammy (Chris) Metz, Brian Atkinson; stepchildren, Kari (Nathan) Hendrix, Tanya (Dave) Pillar, Larry Thompson; nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Janet Barbersek. Bill is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wilma Jean Thompson-Atkinson; and brothers, Don Barbersek and Ralph Barbersek.

His Farewell… Bill’s Community Farewell will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 4PM at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Howell Memorial Chapel with a gathering beginning at 1PM until the time of service.
