His Legacy… William Ray James III, age 42, passed away February 18, 2020. He was born on July 18, 1977, in Royal Oak, Michigan to William and Lou Ann (Winfree) James Jr. Bill married the love of his life, Jamie Lynn Pollen, on February 20, 2004 after a whirlwind romance in Las Vegas, Nevada. Growing up, he enjoyed swimming. Bill was on the swim team for the Royal Oak Penguins, Lamphere High School, and Alma College. He was a loving and exceptional teacher and coach. Bill coached swimming as well as his son’s travel baseball team at the Legacy Center. He loved teaching Psychology at Milford High School. Bill was also the Department Chair for Social Studies at Milford. He taught at Michigan Virtual University. Bill contributed to Gift of Life. As an Alma grad, he was able to recommend students who were to attend the college a “Bill James” Scholarship. Most of all, Bill loved spending time with his family. He focused on creating memories with his wife and kids. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
His Family… Bill will be forever missed by his wife, Jamie; daughter, Bailee; and son, Brody. He is also survived by his parents; brother, Jeremiah; brother-in-laws, Jeff (Julie) Pollen, Shane Sherrill, Cody (Alicia) Sherrill; father-in-law, James (Mary) Pollen; mother-in-law, Jan (Dave) Carpenter; and his dog, Darwin.
His Farewell… Bill’s family and friends will gather on Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 2-8PM at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Lamb Chapel. His Community Farewell will be held on Monday, February 24, 2020 at 11AM (gathering 10AM) at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Lamb Chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family for Bailee and Brody’s education.
