His Legacy… William John Klenk, 81, passed away on January 15, 2026. He was born May 15, 1944, in Brewer, Maine to Gerard and Pauline (Foster) Klenk. William married the love of his life, Gwendolyn Brooker, on October 16, 1976, in Livonia, Michigan. Bill graduated high school in 1962, shortly after he was drafted into the United States Army. After basic training he served in the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1968 where he received many medals for his duty including the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. After the military, he went on to work for Detroit Edison for over 40 years. Bill loved his sweets, he loved them so much he even had an encounter with a bear because of it. Bill was an Eagle Scout who enjoyed all the fun activities that came along with it. Bill was deeply loved by his family and will be greatly missed by friends.
His Family… Bill will be missed by his spouse; Gwen Klenk, his children; Brooke Squair, Heather and Billy and Amy (daughter-in-law) Klenk, grandchildren; Brody and Sterling Squair, Hayden, McKenzie, Greyson and Sadie Grace. Cousin; Richard Gray. He is preceded in death by his parents Gerard and Pauline Klenk.
His Farewell… His Community Farewell will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 4:00PM (1:00PM-4:00PM gathering) at Borek Jennings Funeral Homes, Hamburg, Michigan. Dan Quagliata will serve as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to Freedom River.
