His Legacy…William Anton VanBynen, 87, passed away May 11, 2020. He was born on July 17, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan to Anton and Gertrude (Towe) VanBynen. William married the love of his life, Charlotte Rozwod, on September 25, 1954, in Plymouth, Michigan. He will be remembered as a dedicated husband, a loving father, and a good friend and neighbor. He embodied what it means to be a true gentleman, being intelligent, wise, creative, and honorable. William spent 42 years as a Die Maker with Ford Motor Company, retiring in 1992 to enjoy time with his family. A favorite family vacation was one taken to the Netherlands and down the Rhine River in 2018. He had a mind for mechanics and would teach those around him, while also imparting life lessons, and leaving a positive impact on those around him.
His Family… William will be missed by his wife, Charlotte VanBynen; his children, Cynthia (Hutt) Coffey, Randal (Ellen) VanBynen, Todd (Cathy) VanBynen, Cheri (Larry) VanBynen-Perry; sisters, Trudie Tyler, Sallee Sherrill; grandchildren, Justin Senia, Keenan Senia, Anton Senia, Nathan (Hilari) VanBynen, Nicole (Tim) Estheimer, Ashley (Dan) Berlucchi, Shelby VanBynen, Jessica VanBynen, Joshua VanBynen, Kelly (Seth) Walker, Brandon (Jocelyn) Pemberton, Hattie Perry; great grandchildren, Jacob, Jillian, Landon, Brayden, Claire, Elleanor, Noah, Lilian; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Gertude VanBynen, and his siblings, Martha Miller, Blossom MacFarlane, Bunny Wegzyn, and Larry VanBynen.
His Farewell… William’s family will gather for a private Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, May 21, 2020, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Brighton. A public Memorial Gathering will be held as soon as health restrictions have been lifted. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
