His Legacy…

Zachary James Teela, age 25, passed away August 21, 2020. He was born on December 13, 1994, in Erie, Pennsylvania. Zach graduated at the top of his class a year early from Hartland High School in 2012. He was a very bright and gifted student. He had a tremendous passion for philosophy and the deeper meaning of life.

Zach was a talented writer, singer, and musician. Music was his greatest love and he played many instruments including the guitar, piano, ukulele, mandolin, and the banjo. There was rarely a day or time when Zach would not spontaneously break into song. Zach was also extremely adventurous and he enjoyed being outdoors. He loved backpacking, camping, kayaking and swimming.

Zach was unpretentious and cared deeply for the downtrodden in this world. During his lengthy travels, he touched many people’s lives. Zach made himself fully vulnerable to people and forgave quickly. He will be remembered as a loving, nonjudgmental, curious, adventurous, likeable, and compassionate sojourner. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.

His Family…

Zach leaves behind his parents, Jim and Kathy; brother, Joel; grandparents, Robert Teela, Janet Teela, Shirley Ludwig; aunts and uncles, Scott Teela, Janice (Wade) Bradley, Cindy (Jim) Bachinsky, Jeff (Saundra) Ludwig; and cousins, Hannah Bachinsky, Josh Bachinsky, Allie Ludwig, Claire Bradley, Grant Bradley, and Elaine Bradley. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, William (Papa) Ludwig.

His Farewell…

Zach’s Community Farewell will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 6PM at Cornerstone Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Brighton, MI with a gathering beginning at 4PM until the time of service. Pastor Chris Winans will serve as celebrant. Zach’s celebration service will also be live-streamed on Cornerstone’s website at www. https://cornerstoneforlife.com/live-stream/
